My second oldest of my four boy's has a primary Immune Defect and when ever he or his brothers go in for thing like infections, they put them on the antibiotic right away before getting any results from test just to be on the safe side for my Kennedy. If it comes back negative then we stop treatment.
I also get calls from the health department and school nurse when they have outbreaks of illnesses. My Kennedy can not get live virus vaccine's (MMR and Chicken Pox) If he has direct contact with the chicken pox he has to get a special medication I think it is called V ZIG and then has to get weekly Gammaglobulin treatments to make sure he does not get the chicken Pox. It was scarry when he was in Kindergarten and his 3 brother's all got it( he did not thank GOD) we were at the Immunologist every week for 2 1/2 months till they all got over it! Kennedy is 13 now and my goodness it has been a chore to keep these kids healthy!!
