When I worked at my daughters elementary school (when she was in school), I got it from a 1st grade class...I knew I was bad sick...it was a feeling that I hadn't had before. I went to the doctor, had a 105 temp and they couldn't believe that was up and around...let alone driving. I had never been so sick in my life! And the feeling (for me) of strep throat....you knew what it was from the beginning! YUCK!

Sometimes the rapid strep test is wrong, so that is way they do the lab test as a back up. My doc always does to throat swabs. Normal by the time the kids show signs of it, they have allready exposed others to it. My daughter gets strep often and it comes on quickly. Plus, she never really feels bad just a headache sometimes and high fever.
