I had an adopted Golden/Lab mix one time that was extremely hand shy. She would cower down, lay to the floor or flinch if you raised your'e hand around her. She never did overcome this and it was just one of several issues she came to us with. She was just 120 lbs. of mental mess
Unfortunately the remnants of abuse were with her throughout her whole time with us.
