Mine are crate trained meaning they will not potty in their crates. They are also housetrained and ring a bell to go outside. If no one is home for an hour or two they roam free. If it's longer, we crate them to avoid accidents (if they ring the bell and no one lets them out they will eventually go on the floor, and who can blame them really) Loki LOVES his crate and often sleeps in it during the day. He willingly goes in there when we leave. Crate=Treat+Nap, his two very favorite things.
Sammy came to us crate trained but not trained to LIKE her crate. She screams because she is a princess and how could we possibly put her in there?? The screaming has significantly improved and she does not scream after we leave the house. The funniest part is that she often sleeps in her crate or Loki's crate when SHE chooses to. |
