stud Two cents is worth millions!
The word BITCH is the most beautiful word in dog language. If not for these "diamonds" we would have no babies..worth their weight in GOLD and diamonds.
As to DNA..that breeder may not care, but AKC will have a few choice words if he is used more then 3 times in one year without a test on file...they get no papers until it done. Unfortunately, DNA testing is for ID purposes only. It tells the AKC who the sire is, if there is a dispute. I have asked numerous vets, teaching Universities, etc about DNA testing for genetic problem ie Liver shunt...these tests are not available as yet. People confuse the two..say their male is tested and if there is a problem it has to be the females because their male has a DNA test from AKC..apples and oranges.
A new breeder should have their dogs checked for health problems, but to find out if Liver shunt runs in the line is not possible or just about anything from a DNA point...they have not clue as to how it is passed in the genes..or if it is..many can not agree...two perfectly normal liver Yorkies can have a Liver shunt pup. The best way to know about the line is to talk to other breeders who have the same lines..some will be honest, others will not.
If a breeder never follows up on the litters at 6 months, 12 months, 5 years etc how will they know...some sell and never think about that litter again.
As to Crown Royal...they have genetic problems just like any other Yorkie line...unless they have learned to make Yorkies from a substance unknown to humans...problems occur when dealing with Mother Nature, it is what the breeder does when they occur that makes them reputable. |
