My end of the year experiment I was watching something on TV last night on how this one family couldn't afford food and the kid was in kindergarten and didn't even know the 3 meals of the day, because he never got 3 meals a day.
Today I took a look at my pantry and how much I let go to waste. I'll buy things then they'll sit in the pantry for months. I got to thinking, I wonder how long the food would last me.
So my experiment is to not grocery shop for as long as I can. I am allowing myself 2 meals a week in restaurants, b/c sometimes my schedule doesn't permit me to eat at home. I'm also allowing myself to go to the store to buy milk and eggs (cause I'll need both to cook with).
Any guesses how long before the pantry is bare?
I think I will post my daily meals in this thread.. at first they'll probably be fairly normal, they'll get weirder as time goes on and I have limited options.
I'm thinking about donating the grocery money I save to the food bank. |
