He probably just wants to get rid of his "ya yas" when you get home. He should be fine, but if you are worried about his weight I suggest talk to your vet and go from there. As for medicating him, Bruiser was once diagnosed with doggy ADD at the emergency vets and they suggested that I medicate him. I was like "are you serious"? Just my opinion, but I would never ever medicate him just to calm him down. I love him just the way he is and would never risk changing his personality to make him not so hyper. Being excited and so full of life is why I got a yorkie to being with!
