Default ***WARNING*** EXTREME RANT *** (sorry)

I just got off the phone with Texas A&M - - - they say that they have no openings for appointments until after Thanksgiving, but that they could see Natalie at any time through the ER Services on referral from her private veterinarian.
With the 14 hour round trip to College Station, TX - the office visit, complete cardiac workup and the additional fee for "routing" through the ER Services, we're looking at around 1500.00 just for her very first visit in search of a definitive diagnosis of her condition.... of course they cannot give me any type of "ballpark" figure beyond that.
I feel SO guilty for pulling money from everywhere, that we didn't have to begin with, in order to bring Gracie home.... not expecting Natalie to become so ill again................. but she pranced right into my heart the moment I saw her!
The first thing my sister said was "send that dog back so you can pay to take care of Natalie!!"..... OMG!!!
My room mate's father scolded us for not having Natalie "put down" - saying that "no one needs that kind of financial burden"............ OMGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
What is WRONG with people???????
Yes, okay.... we were in a car accident back in March that totaled my vechicle - - and no, other than disability income and child support, there isn't a lot to go on.............. but how can they possibly expect someone to make those kinds of choices with their BABIES??????????
Sandy did say that she would always buy Gracie back if at any time it "didn't work out"..... but it's "working out" beautifully with her... she is SO happy here.....
I'm at a loss right now.............. sorry for the rant......

Peaceful day to all.......
