I agree. There will very occasionally be exceptions but good breeders know that their pups will be the size the standard states. That is something a lot of people don't realize when they are new to the breed- I didn't myself. My Gracie's parents were 3 1/2 and 5 pounds. She is 8 or 9 pounds. This happened because the breeder didn't know his lines not because it is unavoidable. It's breeders like that who have so many people coming to YT not understanding why their dog doesn't fit the standard. Breeders can't predict that a puppy will be exactly 5 pounds but they can predict that they will resemble the standard.
