Would it be best to start him on the Nov. 20th class, or do you think I should wait until a January class? He will be older than 5 months if he joins the January classes, but since he's small and well socialized, he'll still be able to join it. I don't know why, but I just think that 16 weeks seems so young to be starting him in school. Would he be able to understand everything? Are is it better to start them as soon as possible? |
i think that as soon as they have their puppy shots they are safe to go to puppy school. the trainer is responsible for checking the puppies vaccine records to make sure they have the required vaccines for socialization so usually there is nothing to worry about. Tho some classes do not require the bordatella vaccine for kennel cough. Kennel cough is something that your puppy can get from other puppies so i'd have this vaccine before going, plus all the distemper boosters. rabies is optional at some places depending on the age of the puppies.
