I have a compaq presario i love it, it does everything i need it too. when i get a new one i am going to get a tablet pc because they are really awesome and would work really nice. I don't really like apples, i don't have that much experience with them, and i don't like their formats but good luck with your search. Ohh and before i forget always get an extended warranty because my video card went out on mine and they came picked it up , fixed it, and dropped it off with in a week and a half and it didn't cost me a dime!
