We have a small fenced area for ours. We have made it quite cute. It is a picket fence with a sign "Yorky Yard", and balls and toys for them to play with. They share it with our tortoise. It is wonderful for keeping them safe (falling in the pool, visitors cars etc. I feel more at ease with them playing in there.
