Oh... Jewel... She had an exteremely rare infection located in her brain. The infection was killing off her brain cells. We were told from the time the doctors were able to eleminate all testable conditions and came to the conclusion that what she had is terminal. They gave her 2 weeks, she fought it out for 1 year and passed away just after her 3rd birthday.
Believe me, these little guys are FIGHTERS! But they feed off our emotions. If you are sad around them, they know something is wrong. Dan and I always made sure not to cry in front of her. We always encouraged her and stayed happy around her. I feel from the bottom of our hearts, that is why she fought for her life for so long - she fought for us.
We chose to use a combination of standard veterinary care and alternative herbal and holistic methods including accupuncture.
