I love the name Zoe!
I did the same thing when Jewel was sick. I spent hours and hours on the internet trying to find answers and doctors who can help. I sent countless emails to various Veterinary Universities to see if any doctors were doing research on her condition. I got several replies and one doctor became a conslutant between us and our vets.
I also did research on how I can better understand her lab results and found the most wonderful site that explains the lab results in language I can understand. Things that the vet says it's normal or just glossed over really bothered me and because of this site, I feel I was able to discuss more in detail about my concerns with the vet and made it possible for me to adjust her meals and water intake to help her.
If you don't have copies of the lab results get them from your vet - all of them and check from one test to the next to see where her levels are changing.
