How old is she and how long are you leaving her alone?
For starters - and just for starters - I never leave a dog under a year alone in a house with the run of the house. Even after they are housebroken, or I think they are, they are still confined to a single room in the house when I am not around. Or better yet, an ex-pen. This for behavioral purposes. Was she free to run around or just in the living room?
