It doesn't really get that cold here where we live, but it can be too cold when it's early in the mornings or late at night, so I have one coat that's really easy to put on (it's sort of a down-type jacket that just velcros and no sleeves) for times like that when he's just going out to go to the bathroom. During the day it's not usually so cold, and I just keep a tshirt or pullover sweater on and he goes out in that. He's got heavier coats for when we go up North.
