I've gone through this with a couple of Yorkies now. My first one did much better when we got a second dog. I have a female now who hates going in the car. We have 2 Yorkies, and the male is a great traveler. The female does much better in our motorhome than in the car. She is also improving on the airplane, but she is over 2 and a half years old now, and has traveled a lot.
One alternative is to get a house sitter/pup sitter, someone who knows her. That way she can stay in her own environment and will feel secure with someone paying attention to her. Good luck.
