I have the same concerns. We trained Sophie to poop/pee outside, but our hope is to one day be able to leave her home alone for a couple of hours. She has no clue how to use a peepad.

We are getting a new Yorkie this weekend and I'm going to peepad train her. I hope that Sophie will notice and follow suit. Altho I'd rather them poop/pee outside (I always clean up the poop), Iwould really like for them to use the pads when I'm not home or available to open the door.
