VETERINARY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

Vatterott College’s Veterinary Technician program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, and offers the student a hands-on approach to learning a new career as a Veterinary Technician. Graduates from the program receive an Associate Degree of Applied Science in just 90 weeks.

Students in this program learn to perform the duties of a Veterinary Technician through classroom instruction, hands-on labs, and working daily with the animals on campus. Students work with animals of all sizes--lab animals to large animals.

This program prepares students to sit for a national board exam. Those successfully passing the national board exam can then apply for licensure as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Nebraska and Iowa require that veterinary technicians be licensed to perform the duties involved in their career. Some states also require a state exam. This differs from state to state. Licenses are transferable from state to state.

Licensed Veterinary Technicians assist veterinarians in their clinics or hospitals, may assist research workers and scientists, or even work with animal nutritional companies or pharmaceutical companies.
Sounds like a good program
