I would definately check with the vet. I am a post surgical nurse and we always teach not to use ointment on the incision as it might keep the wound from closing. straight hydrogen peroxide is very damaging to the skin but is great for keeping the wound clean. If you have to use it I would cut it with strerile saline or water from a pharmacy by at least 50 percent of each.. but granted.. I don't work on animals!!
