The first dog my husband and I got was from a pet store. I had heard bad things about pet stores so I made sure and they said that she was from a local breeder in the area. No way do they use puppymills - ever. When we got her papers she was from Kansas. She was too young and could not be around other dogs. We ended up rehoming her in an only dog home. Now that I raise puppies...there is NO WAY I would ever even THINK of selling to a pet store. So really I do think they are all from puppy mills.
