Yeah but that was part of a 2nd mortgage, a car loan we paid down, a ton of medical debt AND the credit card debt. We aren't big shoppers either - some of it was Christmas presents and going out to dinner but a lot was just poor budgeting and planning. We had ourselves convinced that we would make more money later. My husband has a tendency to spend the same $500 that he thinks is coming 3 times, then it never comes or it comes 3 months later. The hardest part has been convincing him that we can only spend what we make. The next challenge will be convincing him it's worthwhile to SAVE some money.
