Tuffy's tear stains come and go. He has been on antibiotics a few times in the last few months and that has caused him to stain really badly. Now that he's off of them again they are starting to lighten up. I swear by stainless steel water and food bowls and filtered water. I also do the hydrogen peroxide trick and that always lightens it up. Lately on Spoiled Maltese I've been hearing about using denture tablets to lighten up the stains.. I haven't tried it but it's worked wonders for some. Also a product called Angel's Glow is basically flavored Tylan powder and that has also worked for some. I just hate to use that many weird products on Tuffy.. oh and most of the little "tear stain remover" products do nothing.
