Oh, do I have experience w/ squirts, mucousy stools, and mushy stools! I fought it post-giardia for 4 months - we suspected ibs. Finally, I consulted w/ an animal nutritionist and put him on a white-fish based diet - and *voila*, 1.5 days later we had formed stools. A freaking miracle at that point.

It is probably a food allergy of some kind. If it were me, I'd probably get him a probiotic, digestive enzymes to start. Do you want to keep him on kibble or are you thinking of homecooking?

If kibble, Wellness has some single protein/single carb allergy foods that would be the least complex of kibbles. Stay away from chicken. They have venison or duck.

I know how frustrating and scary this is - so don't be afraid to keep posting if you need help!
