I've heard a lot of conflicting information on this so I'm not sure if I can be of help. I've heard (and my vet recommended) that Yorkies should not be fed a food that has more then 30-32% protein as it is too rich for Yorkies and can stress the kidneys. I've also read however, that the high protein kibbles such as Innova Evo and Orijen, which have around 40+% protein are fine and should only be a concern if the dog has pre-existing liver or kidney issues.

I decided to play it safe and give her a food with 28%. I use Wellness puppy. I've heard though to that the higher protein foods can give smaller dogs diarreah because they are too rich.

Anyone else know for sure though? I'm curious myself.
