 Princess Sophia and little Capone!
Sophia, my Blonde girl; she and Capone had a baby that was born breech and didn't survive. It was Sophie's first. I was afraid she was too small for breeding but I figured because Capone was small too she'd be okay. My vet said she'd be fine but I came home one day and the pup from the waste down was hanging from little Sophia! She'd gone into labor while I was in school! The pup was stuck and wold't budge, I didn't know what to do. I waited until she had a contraction and hten I pulled gently and massaged her belly to help her but still the pup was stuck. I even tried KY Jelly with warm towels to relax her muscles and nothing work. Finally I called my partner whom I breed with and she rushed over and was able to turn the pup and dislodge his shoulders and it finaly came out! It was horrrible I thought I was going to lose my Sophia. But she was fine and recovered very well. It's funny though, the days that followed it was almost as if she knew she was missing her baby. She'd sit in her pin and scratch and nest around and then lay down to sleep. I'm glad she's okay. |
