Oh gosh I hope this thread doesn't get out of hand The most important thing here is to help the OP and try to convince him/her to place this Yorkie with a rescue versus giving him to the pound.

First of all, to answer your question, no I have not ever had to surrender a Yorkie, or any dog for that matter.

And as everyone has already said numerous times, please do not take him to the pound. There ARE rescue shelters out there that will take him - Yorkie rescues for that matter. And as a few people have already mentioned here, it honestly ISN'T true that once they've bitten they can't be turned around. There are skilled professionals out there that will work with these dogs and get them properly trained. I would not want the dogs life to end just because he's bitten before. Please give him a chance and try with all your might to get that poor baby into a rescue shelter

I sure do hope we get an update on this situation soon.
