My pregnant bitches when due to whelp are never left alone, if I have to work I take my bitch to my vet which I trust or I wouldn't take her. I cant' bring to work because I work in a school. When she is in labor I then take off and go pick her up or stay at vet's if she's delivering I"m right there. Then once puppies are born I am off work for several days. I've been lucky and have had puppies during the summer and I'm off anyway. BUT NEVER LEAVE HER ALONE ONCE THE TEMP STAYS DROPPED! Actually I start puppy watch starting at 56 days
