  I don't know...we didn't expect her to have her pups until the 20th of October, so she caught us by surprise.  I woke Sunday morning to her whining, then when we got up, she didn't eat her breakfast, then found her spot (NOT her whelping box) and started nesting, then I saw shivering and I knew this was it.  Next thing I knew (after taking her temp @99.5), the whelping began!  I never did see her do any of the panting thing.  I'm assuming she must have been in light labor all night while we slept.
