they have the sweetest temperments and are extremely good with children!!!!!! my friend that just had the pups has 7 danes and her grandchildren can roll around in the field with them. they are incredibly sweet. I have never had them around livestock, but I have had mine around baby kittens and baby puppies and he was SUPER gentle with them. they call them "gentle giants" for a good reason
