Bella had her dew claws removed and her tail docked so I didn't even think about it. I have never had any problems with the dogs I have with dew claws still intact so really it's just not a big enough deal to put the pup through it, it's just not necessary. Like everyone else said, just clip them like the normal nails and all will be well.
