To neuter or not is really a touchy subject. I still haven't decide to neuter mine yet and I am taking full responsibility of watching him 24/7 to make sure he does not contribute to the pet population and I am okay with it. I do understand about the pet overpopulation problem and I never take any chances with my dog. He doesn't hump, doesn't mark and I know that if I decide to neuter him, his personality will not change because that is his personality. I am just not convinced that it is the best for them because yes you may eliminate some types of cancers because the parts are not there to begin with but you may also increase the chances of other types of cancers because I believe functions in the body are inter-linked in some ways and until the day there is a full research done on it with a result that says so, I will wait. I guess it is easier said for people who only owns one dog. It would be different if you have more than one. I do not want to step on anyone's toes here, just sharing what I think. |
