One thing I have learned about having a yorkie for many years now is consistency, the same time all the time. Especially when they are young. I generally make them stay in the kitchen area with our side door off that room, then the smaller place to train them is so much easier. I do not let them go in the house where they may get lost and not know where to go. (if that makes sense to you).
I have a tv in my kitchen when in training I spend most of the time in that room. Smaller place easier control...It is not easy. And then I feel that they need to be trained for about 3 months before they get the run of the house.
Just enlarging their area a bit more the better they get. If they pee when it is a bigger area, we go back to the original smaller area again.
I think we all know a yorkie is about the hardest to train.
