I don't do daily maintenance....over brushing is just as harmful as not keeping a coat clean. The heavy moisturizing conditionor should assist in removing any tangles.....If there is huge mat.....I use Chris Christensen Ice On Ice...spray on the mat and work out with the side of a slicker brush.
Brushing a dirty coat only breaks it.
