I would say no unless you are prepared to do a lot of work and research. Only top breeders who know what they are doing will do this. The dog has to be an excellent example of the breed, have several tests done and you would need to go to classes on genetics. It is way too risky if you don't know what you are doing and you can end up with a litter of puppies with several health problems because of it. You have to really know your genetics to be able to do it correctly, and this will take years of studying.
If you really want to breed, you should get an unrelated female from a good reputable breeder. Or you could do the research but this will take a long time and you would most likely have to get a pup from another litter and what you learn or find out might mean you still won't be able to do it.
So in general, unless you are professional and know the lines and genetics, then no you shouldn't do it. |
