Wow, I hope this doesn't start happening with Tobey- he is also 10 months old. He steals things he knows he is not supposed to have and then darts around as we chase him until we get him cornered then he drops it and hangs his head. If he started being aggressive It would take me totally by surprise like it did your daughter. They are doing a lot of things right- I also make tobey do a "sit" or "down" before he gets a toy, treat, food, or let outside into the backyard to play. I feel like I have done a good job establishing that I am the boss, not him, but it seems like this behavior with your daugther's dog was unexpected when they were trying to do everything right. You've gotten some good advice- i don't know about trying to pretend like you are a dog, but the drop it command is one that we've been working on for MONTHS!! he's a quick learner in every command except that one.
