My personal opinion..... One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone says "It's JUST a dog!" because I love my baby Tatum just like one of my daughters and the same with the toy poodle I had for 15 years before her BUT when it comes down to it, a dog needs less than a human child. I think the saying "It's the quality of time, not the quantity" is a good way to look at it with your furbabies. A dog's (or any pet's) needs are fairly simple.... you feed them, provide shelter and give lots of love. We often make the mistake of buying our children so much crap to play with (excuse the language but looking back on what my kids have been given in the past, that's what most of it was) that we think the dogs need this too. Don't get me wrong - Tatum has a rather large basket of toys but she also is such a laid back dog that all she really wants it to sit on or near someone and just BE with them.
I think it sounds like Jackson is very much loved. Too much over-stimulation is sometimes a bad thing too so just being with him and doing what you're doing is great.
Welcome to the Yorkie World!
