I usually give Otis three times a month...depending how stinky he gets. I remember Otis' brother had a finer, waxier coat, and got that "doggie" smell quicker. I guess it depends on how long you can tolerate a stinky dog, esp when if they sleep in your bed.

Coat Handler is a GREAT SHAMPOO.

I forget the story behind it's creation, but I believe the lady shows Yorkies, and it's made esp. for Yorkie hair/skin. Otis has been using that since he was a puppy. You can also buy it from different dog catalogs.

We also found some herbal doggie shampoo from Origins that seems to work.
