I have a bedtime routine with Pixie..and she has gone through the night in her crate from the very first night we brought her home...maybe we are just lucky but i think they are like human babies and need routine.
once she quietens down in the evening i have a little grooming session on my lap then i let her fall asleep on my lap and once she is very sleepy i then move her to her bed in her crate and cover the crate with a blanket so its all draught free and cosy. This seems to work for us and she will go through from 10.30-11pm till i get up at 6.45am.
I have never let her get too used to sleeping on me for too long...which was very hard as i just wanted to nurse her constantly when i first got her! I didn't want her to become to clingy..she would push her luck at first...she was trying me out i suppose

...and would get straight back out of her bed and stand and stare at me...i would ignore her and she would be really tired and would get back in and go to sleep again after a few minutes, and now she gets in her bed in her crate all by herself as if she's telling ME its bedtime!
