See? Perhaps things are looking up already. Coby whines and cries when he's happy. If he was staying there on his own, then he was probably a happy little guy.
I agree with most of the good advice given here. And its truly about the dog's well-being and happiness, but I do know that it can still hurt your feelings a bit when they don't seem to offer you love in exactly the way you'd hoped for.
