A bit of light pink is fine. By the 10th day there should only be a bit of pinkish blood.

Day 10 from the onset of bleeding. Skip a day and breed again.

Here's the Heat Time Frame.

Week 1 Swealing
Week 2 Showing of Color
Week 3 Breeding Time (usually on the 10th day from the onset of color)

Yes, female does have to go to the stud's house.

No, they shouldn't spend the entire night together. Breeding should be assisted and they shouldn't be left to their own devices.
A female could render a male crippled.....in other words hurt his penis and never be able to stud again. Both should be held during the process. Only allowed to breed once on each day. Skipping a day allows the male sperm to build up again.
