if you don't want to crate train her (since being 5 she might not take to it well!!) can you gate her in the kitchen or soemthing and put down pee pads in the kitchen with her?? Layla has never been pee pad trained but i hear they are made to make dogs want to go on them.... this way she can still move around and play and eat and drink... but your carpet will be saved!
