I had the same doubts and questions a few months ago when I got Pixie. First off let me assure you, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having two dogs. They keep each other company, they love to play together, nothing is better than having two snuggle bugs curled up on your lap and it's great because now my husband and I each have a dog to walk. I also don't worry about leaving them home alone because they keep each other company. I really don't notice that I give one more attention than the other.. we all play together and neither seems to get jealous. Though if one is on my lap, the other wants to be up there too. I treat them the same and they get equal attention. You'll find that you'll be able to give them both the same amounts of love. It's also better to get a new dog while your first dog is still young.. they are more likely to adapt to a new puppy than an older dog will. That said, let me give you a few warnings. It can be costly having two dogs.. mine have both been sick at the same time and that was a hefty bill.. as well as being super stressful. Also, and no one likes to think about this, but having two dogs that are very close in age will also become old at the same time.

But, I personally think that the pros outweigh the cons and highly recommend getting a 2nd dog.
