hi everyone. Just wanted to update you on my baby girl. The vet called me Friday night. They said the pathology report came back observing benign cells called histiocytoma cells. That is the good news. The bad news or "inconclusive" part of it was, the vet said since I only had them aspirate the tumor and take a small sample they STILL want to go in and remove the tumor to make sure they dont find cancerous cells in the rest of the tumor. My hubby of course thinks that is insane because I read on the internet that these type of tumors occur in young dogs and usually resolve themselves within 3 months and to leave them alone if they are not bothering the dog. Well Shena does lick at it a lot, so to me that means she is bothered by it. I think I am going to go ahead with the surgery and have it removed. I will put it on my charge card with my hubby knowing what the cost is. We do have dog insurance, so they will remimburse me 80 percent. I just want to do what is best for Shena. Remove it if that is what is best, or leave it alone... I dont know!! What do you all think????
