By breeding non-show quality (or pet quality) dogs, you are not breeding to the standard and definitely not improving the breed. The majority of breeders, including those on YT, are not show-breeders...that is why there are so many yorkies out there that do not meet the yorkie standard. That's also why so many of our yorkies have genetic problems. Yorkies are so overbred now that many don't even look like yorkies anymore.
This is very well said and is true please breed to improve the breed there are ton's of breeder's out there that only do it for the $ and this is hurting the yorkie breed. There are so many things that can go wrong in breeding and heartache. To breed takes years of studying and always learning to do the best for this awesome breed. But right now with soooooo many breeding it is scary to think of what is coming down the road for this breed. Please get a mentor ..JMO Shawn
