She was gave to me at age 5 weeks because momma dog wanted nothing to do with her, and I took her in, I knew there was something not right with her and The vets all said she may have been inbreed, Well i knew that was not true because I knew the parents of the pup. But Later I found out that her problem was she was stepped on by a small child and age 2 weeks, and well it cruched her spine. There was nothing the vet could do for her and told me I should put her to sleep. I asked is she in pain? He said No but she will never be normal. well If She wasnt in pain then I would love her the way she is. and we did, and she wore a diaper all her life, but she was such a sweet happy Baby. but then at age 7 years every thing went wrong and he had to lay her to rest. but I always think If maybe I knew a little more I could have had her just maybe a little longer. |
I know the internet is such a great tool. I have learned a lot from Babybear. I know when people ask me what is wrong with him I tell them he can not walk do to a broken neck. They tell me then why are you making him suffer. He is in no pain.(ask the vets how to tell if he was in pain, because an injured animal will only whine for a while for fear they will be eaten. They said to watch the eyes if they are dilated when they shouldn't be then they are in pain and seek help.) I just want to say to people when they say why not put him down. Is well if you parent or grandparent can not walk you usually put them in a home. And people with Alzheimer usually get put in a home and sit and watch out windows all day. IS that cruel?? So why should I put my baby down when he lives a very full life. As a matter of fact we took him to the county fair yesterday and tomorrow we are going to North Conway NH to go do some sight seeing and shopping and he will be with us. The only thing is he can not go into resteraunts that kills us. So we buy our meals to go and find a nice spot to eat. Boy i better stop I am rambling here. Just getting to my point here. I would have done the same thing as you did with your baby. But like you said the internet you can find so many things now.
