Good for you to want to make your baby's clothes yourself!!!! When I started with mine, I had an idea in my head and just sewed and re-sewed till I got it right. I have found that most of the patterns out there are for bigger dogs and it can be really difficult to downsize.
Start by measuring your pup's neck, chest (just behing the front legs) and length (from nape of neck to where tail begins). This will give you a good reference point. You can always use something you already own as a potential pattern as well. Just remember once you have the neck and chest measurements, if the closure will be velcro, you need to allow at least an extra 2" of fabric for overlap.
Bows are kind of the same way (for me at least). Just start making and you'll find what you like and what you don't. Most folks use fabric stiffener on the ribbon and there is controversy on hand sewn vs. hot glue - find what works best for you!!!
Good luck!!
