There are patterns that you can get online for free and even some that you can get at the fabric stores. I would ask your mom for basic instructions on how to do it, reding some of these instructions can be a huge headache!
Oh for the free sewing patterns, google dog clothing patterns... and even do a search on here for them. Best of luck!
