Default hawks

I live in Arizona and we have lots of hawk, owls and coyotes. I NEVER let the yorkies outside without me being right there with them. These are great preditors and not afraid of humans. A couple near me were walking there toy poodle on one of those extendo leashes and a coyote jumped out of the bushes not more then 6 feet from them and grabbed the dog. I have had other yorkie friends that had their yorkie picked up by an owl at night right off their covered back porch. When I was a child, growing up in Sedona, AZ, we had a chihuahua. We were all outside gardening and a hawk swooped down not more than 4 feet away and tried to get our little girl. So, unless you have a comletely covered on all sides enclosure, I wouldnt let them outside alone. Lynn
