I am a bit confused here...if your contract reads stud fee of $450.00 or a puppy back and you didnt pay the stud fee upon service, then you had to have verbally agreed to a puppy back.

She can play the devil by not allowing you to register the litter if you do not fulfill your end of the contract. While I understand your quandry not placing the pup in a loving home, I agree with most everyone, place the pup in a proper pet home and give her the $1200.00

Hard lesson learned but make sure you have everything spelled out on paper by the stud owner...

this is a portion of mine where the bitch owner has to inital

1. The fee for the stud service is payable at the time of service, or terms as follows:
The owner of the dam identified above agrees on this date: / / (initialed: ) that the stud fee must be paid to the stud dog owner upon first day of service or “pick of litter” before the stud dog owner will sign the AKC litter registration application, which ever is agreeable to both parties.
